- Improper was formed in December 2002 from a group of performers who met in Neals Yard, Covent Garden, as part of The Impro Lab. Their debut shows as Improper took place at the Arcola Theatre, London, in eary 2003, and since then they have performed at such venues as the Komedia in Brighton, the Paradise in London, the Greenwood Theatre, Jongleurs Clapham, and The Soho Theatre. They headlined the London Improvisation Festival 2003 with 'Brit Film', playing alongside Chicago's Strawberry Quick and the Improfessionals from Paris.
- Improper's home until July 2003 was at The Spot in the heart of Covent Garden where they performed 'Improper Hits The Spot' every fortnight.
- 2004 saw them moving into Lowdown at the Albany, and in February 2005 they started their regular monthly show, on the first Wednesday of every month.
